Best iPhone chess game

IPhone 6 Plus user: Good chess app with plenty of features. Main request. 1. Please add Wood Board option on Appearance. 2. Latest update still crashes. Please fix crash issues when clicking on Training. 3. Under Control Panel enabled, Cancel button doesnt work.

Smallchess is a wonderful app but something has been done to it in the latest update. The app crashes the moment you start to play. Other reviewers are saying its because entering training mode. Im not sure one way or the other. The developer just needs to fix this great app so it works again and then it will be 5 star. For now. Hold off downloading until its fixed.

This is my fav new chess app! Great Al running on the Stockfish engine? I have most of the chess apps hiarcs, shredder, tchess, fritz etc. It has a tablebase, coaching, and comes with a 10,000 opening database. It also has clock settings. A really impressive layout. No online store yet though. Its pricey but I had to see it. It was worth the purchase. They could lower the price by a third. See for yourself! This could be the best chess app hands down. I play at a 1600 level.

Could be a really cool app but the paid version (unlike the free one) hangs on every single check!! Obviously it makes it totally unusable as a chess app :)

in the FICS online game, there arent profile (how many wins and loses etc) also without chat! i hope you will work about it..

Just a small thing, Ted. When you reverse-the-board the coordinates dont reverse with the pieces. Also, could you possibly program coordinates all-the-way-around the board? PS. Analysis engine(s) can always be strengthened as well...

Do not purchase this app. I purchased it then I performed 2 matches against Hiarcs ELO rating at 2900 defeated Smallfish with "ELO of 3000+"??? You will know soon!

Would be a great app if it didnt unexpectedly "lose connection" while playing online.

Loaded with features. Strong chess engine. Excellent analysis of moves during and after gameplay. Ability to play online within app via FICS. Training included. Downloads within app to study pivotal moves made by gms and you can predict the next move and compare. App has never crashed as one stated below. Screen within screen allows one to see possibilities for how game will play put given a selected move. I believe the engine is a variant of stockfish. Quibbling over the engines ELO rating is ridiculous when it is strong enough to beat you every time....whether its rated at 2500, 2700, or 3000. As far as Im concerned, you cant find an enthusiast-level chess app this good, with so many features and with no additional in app purchases...youll no once you compare it to the others!

The app would be great if it didnt lose connection unexpectedly. Most irritating is the time lag. The clock on my opponent runs out but I lose due to bugs in the time lag. Overall, a frustrating, disappointing and irritating way to play chess online. Buy with caution!

The application works for 1 to 2 min. Then it will closed suddenly i dont know why i hope they fix this problem in the next update.

Ive been using smallchess pro for some days now... but today I was changing the settings of trainer in the app but the app closed unexpectedly and wont turn on again. I have to completely uninstall and loose all my data to see if it will work again.

My only complain was the app has not been updated to iOS 7, but thats not an issue. Pretty sure they will upgrade sooner or later. I love the trainings, its really awesome. Multi-pv is also amazing.
